Gravity Design
Lisa Hammond is the Founder and Managing Director of Gravity Design, an independent multi-disciplinary design practice she established in 2001 following her early career as a senior designer at a leading London lighting consultancy.
With more than 27 years’ experience, Lisa has built an international portfolio spanning lighting and interior design across hospitality, retail, residential, commercial and transport environments. Her work combines creative ambition with a practical understanding of how spaces are experienced and brought to life through design and light.
Career highlights include leading the lighting design for the first Maybach showroom outside Germany, project managing the Mercedes Smart Car integration across Europe and Nike’s multi-gender lighting rollout across the UK and mainland Europe. She was also architectural lead lighting designer for all 27 stations and public spaces of the Dubai Metro Link, and lead lighting designer for the prestigious Grantley Hall Hotel development.
Throughout her career, Lisa has developed a reputation for navigating projects where creativity, technical expertise and real-world delivery need to work hand in hand. Today, alongside leading Gravity Design, she brings that breadth of experience to the wider industry as a professional member of the PLDA, as an expert witness in cross-dwelling insurance matters and a committee member for the 100 Property Club.
At the heart of Lisa’s work is a belief that great design isn’t simply about how a space looks, but how it feels, functions and ultimately connects with the people who experience it.
