ASSOCIATIONS LOUNGE

The Associations Lounge acts as a shared space for industry associations including the LIA, ILP, SLL, and IALD to share their ongoing work and information about membership. Located on the Gallery Level, it is open to all registered visitors and exhibitors and provides a comfortable environment off the show floor. It comes complete with complimentary refreshments, networking events and a dedicated talks programme.

TALKS PROGRAMME

Sponsored by SIMES the [d]arc thoughts, is a highly regarded talks programme curated and moderated by the editorial team behind leading lighting design magazine, arc. Featuring presentations and discussion from leading design experts from a multitude of backgrounds, it is located in a dedicated conference room on the Gallery Level and covers topics from sustainability and circularity, to the business of design, to wellness and health and is a must-attend educational programme for those working in design.

TAKE A MOMENT INSTALLATION

ZHA with Formalighting present an immersive installation exploring the fragile balance of our natural world

We live in a time of constant information, stimulation and reaction. ‘Take a Moment’ invites visitors to pause and step into a space of reflection and contemplation, turning a transient passage into an environment of stillness.

Three atmospheric chambers unfold in sequence, each shaped by one of nature’s fundamental forces: sun, water and wind. Each moves from beauty to volatility. Sunlight that nourishes can become drought, water that sustains life can become flood, and a gentle breeze can become a hurricane. These are not separate events but interconnected states of a continuously changing environment.

Cycles of compression and release, darkness and illumination, and silence and sound guide visitors forward. Light becomes both material and atmosphere, and sound extends each chamber beyond its physical boundaries.

The installation reflects on the climate crisis through sensory experience rather than statistics. It is an invitation to slow down and recognise how delicate and vulnerable the balance we take for granted has become.

ZHA has partnered with Formalighting to realise the installation, bringing together architecture, lighting and sensory design.

LiGHT WORK

Head to the Gallery level to find a dedicated space for getting work done during the two-day show. A fixture of the event since its inception, the Remote Office grows in popularity every year. This year it is presented in collaboration with Flos.

Visitors can use dedicated wi-fi, charging points and co-working desk space, with complimentary coffee on hand.

LATE NIGHT OPENING

On the opening day of LiGHT – Wednesday 18 November – the show doors stay open until 9pm. Taking on a more relaxed vibe, the late-night allows visitors to take in the latest lighting offerings while catching up with peers and friends. The show floor comes alive as it fills with stand parties, competitions and social spaces, bringing the design industry a space to network and unwind. The late-night bars located around the venue open at 6pm.

LiGHT LUNCH

On Thursday 19 November the Associations Lounge hosts the annual LiGHT Lunch networking event from 1 – 2pm. Sponsored by Studio Due the event is free to attend, this is a great space for meeting up with industry peers.
